You can help improve the Architectural Woodwork Standards by making a suggestion

On a general note, a member writes:
Quite honestly, the book gives me a head ache every time I try to use it. I find it difficult to locate information and the numerical system is very distracting. Most architects in my area still specify the 8th edition, leading me to believe they are not thrilled with the new format as well. Further, our proposal template has a disclaimer noting the we adhere to the 8th edition QS and no one seems to have a problem with that, at least not yet.
Another thing that scares me about this version of the QS is the fact that changes are made and posted on a web site or something like that and, although it hasn’t affected me, I have to believe it is only a matter of time before there is law suit over whether a change was or was not applicable on a given project.
This method is just asking for trouble in my opinion.
The QS and it’s format has served us well over many decades and if AWI is considering changing the new standard it would be my opinion to return to what has work well for so many years.
Hope this helps and feel free to share this if you choose to.
